EDUCATION
Dr. Sachin Dharwardkar is a well-known Glaucoma specialist in Mumbai. He did his Diploma in Ophthalmology from the University of Pune and is a Gold Medalist. Thereafter, he pursued Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Ophthalmology and passed the FRCS (Glasgow) examination subsequently. He has been the recipient of the ICO International Fellowship in Glaucoma and has undergone specialised training in Glaucoma drainage implants and Deep Sclerectomy. He was the Lecturer in Ophthalmology at Rajawadi Hospital in Mumbai and has guided many budding Ophthalmologists in their career during his tenure.
EXPERIENCE
His passion is research on modulation of wound healing in glaucoma surgery and Ophthalmic imaging related to Glaucoma. He has published articles regarding appropriate usage of Ophthalmic technology in peer-reviewed journals. He has been an active office bearer in Bombay Ophthalmologist Association and has actively organised the conference for Glaucoma Society of India in 2015.
EXPERTISE
He is an ardent proponent of proper communication skills in patient care, its importance in Glaucoma management and has given talks, held meetings and taught eye surgeons pan India. His perfectionist and no-nonsense approach to patient care are well-known among his peers.
