TransPRK is a refractive error correction without the need to prepare the cornea. Here, the Excimer laser removes tissue through the regenerative surface layer of the cornea.
What is Trans PRK:
TransPRK (Transepithelial Photorefractive Keratectomy) is a no-touch laser vision correction procedure in which a specialised (Excimer) laser is used for precise corneal skin layer removal and reshaping of the superficial layers of the cornea beneath. Corneal reshaping is computer controlled, and is based on the results of optical and corneal shape mapping tests carried out at your preoperative consultation. The rapid firing laser will emit 1050 pulses of laser energy per second, and at the same rate will track any eye movements that may occur during the procedure, resulting in a very quick and accurate treatment. A bandage contact lens is placed over the eye to assist epithelial regeneration/healing, which is usually removed 2-4 days following your treatment

I had a Lasik performed by Dr Shradha Goel and the consultation was done by Dr Shalomith Uppapalli for the same. Both of them are friendly and helped me throughout the process to be calm. Lasik was performed in no time and the whole process was smooth, thanks to the doctors 🙂
I was very nervous coming for my operation that I had been delaying for the past 10 years, but coming to Arohi was a very positive experience. The staff was very kind and my interaction with Dr. Shradha was comfortable. Highly Recommend!
Due to my higher eye power, I was operated for ICL. Arohi Eye Hospital has taken all the care and has been followed us up regarding our checkup. It was a fantastic experience for me and my family. The staff is very cooperative and the environment is very positive. Most importantly, Dr Shradha Goel has helped us a lot.
Trans PRK is a no-touch, flap-free vision correction procedure that reshapes the cornea using an excimer laser. It removes the surface epithelium and corrects refractive errors safely without blades or suction.
Unlike LASIK, Trans PRK doesn’t involve cutting a corneal flap. It’s gentler on the eye, preserves corneal strength, and is ideal for those with thin or irregular corneas.
People with thin corneas, active lifestyles, or those unsuitable for LASIK are perfect candidates. A detailed eye evaluation at Arohi Eye Hospital confirms eligibility.
It’s completely blade-free, painless, and flapless — ensuring quicker healing, better corneal stability, and excellent long-term vision results.
Some patients may experience temporary dryness, light sensitivity, or mild haze, which usually subside within a few weeks with proper care.
The laser correction takes just a few minutes per eye. The overall procedure is quick, safe, and performed on an outpatient basis.
Vision starts improving within 3–5 days, with full clarity achieved in 1–2 weeks. Most patients can resume normal work soon after healing.
Yes, Trans PRK effectively treats myopia and astigmatism up to certain degrees. Your exact suitability will be determined during consultation.
Absolutely. Since there’s no flap creation, Trans PRK maintains corneal integrity and is safer for patients with thin or delicate corneas.
