When I founded Arohi Eye Hospital in 2010, it was born from a simple yet powerful desire — to provide not just treatment, but transformative eye care with heart and precision.
As a young ophthalmologist trained in India and the USA, I had seen firsthand how access to the right technology, expertise, and compassionate care could change lives. But I also saw that many hospitals lacked a space where patients could feel truly cared for — not just as cases, but as human beings with stories, fears, and dreams.
I wanted to create a place that felt different from a typical hospital — a place where science and soul came together. Where each patient who walked through our doors felt seen, heard, and valued.
That vision became Arohi — a name that means ‘the first light of the rising sun’ — a symbol of clarity, hope, and new beginnings.
Over the years, Arohi has grown from a small practice into one of Mumbai’s most trusted eye hospitals, with a world-class team, state-of-the-art technology, and a warm, patient-first approach. We’ve been privileged to restore sight and confidence for over 1,50,000 patients, including individuals from across the world.
Personally, my journey as a surgeon has been equally transformative. I’ve performed over 10,000+ surgeries, yet each one teaches me something new — about the resilience of the human spirit and the gift of sight. My special interest in refractive surgeries like LASIK and advanced cataract treatments comes from a deep-seated joy in seeing people reclaim their vision, and often, their lives.
But beyond the technology and treatments, what drives me every single day is the trust patients place in us — and the responsibility to honor that trust with excellence, ethics, and empathy.
Arohi isn’t just a hospital — it’s my life’s work. It’s a reflection of my belief that true healing happens when expertise meets compassion, and when the journey of care is just as important as the outcome.
